Design Director, Visual Design (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; not available for hire or work in New Mexico or Hawaii.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Define visual, interface, brand, and product design direction across complex digital programs.
• Translate brand, product, and business objectives into clear creative and visual strategies.
• Lead the creation and evolution of design systems, UI frameworks, and visual identity systems.
• Champion AI-augmented workflows for exploration, prototyping, production, and quality control.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams across visual, UI, UX, copy, and motion design.
• Partner with clients, product managers, strategy, client services, and engineering to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in creative leadership, preferably in digital design and product teams.
• Depth in at least two design disciplines, such as visual and brand design, product and UI design, interaction, or motion.
• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual and product design work for global brands, including AI-assisted projects.
• Deep product and UI design expertise, including design systems, workflows, and advanced Figma mastery.
• Hands-on daily experience with AI-driven design and production tools, including generative models, AI-assisted prototyping, or LLM-powered workflows.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple workstreams, presenting to stakeholders, and mentoring designers.
