What you will do

• Own billing architecture across usage metering, plans, subscriptions, entitlements, invoices, credits, and payments.
• Design billing systems that support new pricing models and product features.
• Measure and bill accurately for processed data, evaluation scores, model usage, and data retention.
• Build usage-metering and aggregation pipelines that convert product activity into accurate customer usage.
• Develop subscription, limits, entitlement, internal tooling, and customer-facing systems for account state and billing investigation.
• Monitor billing reliability through metering lag, event completeness, reconciliation discrepancies, and payment health.

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of TypeScript, Rust, SQL, backend systems, APIs, and distributed data-processing patterns.
• Experience building and operating production usage-based billing, payments, or subscription systems.
• Experience with metering, aggregation, idempotency, reconciliation, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience integrating with Stripe or similar payment infrastructure.
• Ability to ship end-to-end across backend infrastructure, data systems, internal tools, and customer-facing UI.
• Ability to balance rapid delivery with customer trust and billing correctness.

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining financial ledgers, credits, balances, or invoice systems.
• Previous startup experience, including founding or working at a startup.
