Director, Software Engineering (Finance Systems)

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for enterprise financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, custom Finance applications, and related SaaS solutions.
• Partner with Finance leaders to convert business and transformation priorities into technology strategies, roadmaps, and scalable solutions.
• Own the Finance technology portfolio and multi-year roadmap, balancing business value, technical debt, platform lifecycle, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Guide integration of Finance solutions with SAP and the wider enterprise application, data, and integration ecosystem.
• Build a high-performing organization across model building, systems analysis, product ownership, technical program management, and software engineering.
• Enable the use of enterprise data, AI, and machine learning for forecasting, financial analysis, automation, anomaly detection, and decision support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise application or software engineering organizations in large enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading through managers, including organizational design, talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across software engineering, enterprise applications, planning applications, systems analysis, product ownership, and technical program management.
• Experience with enterprise-scale financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario-modeling platforms, including strategy, delivery, lifecycle management, and operations.
• Strong understanding of Finance processes, software engineering, enterprise architecture, integration, data, cloud concepts, executive communication, and stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Experience with Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, or comparable enterprise Finance platforms.
• Experience leading custom enterprise software teams using Golang, Java, or comparable programming languages.
• Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, enterprise integration patterns, and Finance SaaS platforms such as Coupa or Rightsline.
• Experience delivering production AI or machine learning capabilities with Data Engineering and ML Engineering teams.
• Experience supporting technology-enabled Finance transformation in a large, global organization.
