Datacentre Deployment Lead (GPU Infrastructure)

Location: UK; remote-first between deployment assignments with around 50% international travel to data centre sites, sometimes at short notice.

What you will do

• Act as the onsite decision-maker for data centre builds and lead 3–5 Deployment Engineers and contractors.
• Collaborate with deployment, network engineering, procurement, supply chain, and data centre operations teams from validated design through operational handover.
• Validate designs and BOMs against space, power, cooling, weight, and hardware interoperability before equipment arrives.
• Design and quality-check structured and fibre cabling, oversee cable pathing, and ensure installations match approved plans.
• Oversee racking, GPU server and network hardware installation, fabric cutover, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
• Define regional deployment standards, maintain as-built documentation, conduct post-deployment reviews, and develop engineers.

Requirements

• Experience leading a technical deployment team onsite and acting as the onsite authority.
• Advanced structured and fibre cabling experience, including design, length estimation, and quality control.
• Experience creating and reviewing BOMs for space, power, cooling, weight, and interoperability, including optics, AOC, and DAC.
• Significant data centre deployment experience with strong network and server hardware knowledge.
• Experience creating or enforcing technical standards and documentation.
• Fluent English with clear written reporting and willingness to travel internationally around 50% of the time.

Nice to have

• GPU or HPC cluster deployment experience, including InfiniBand and fat-tree or rail-optimised fabric designs.
• Experience leading deployment teams across multiple countries.
• Python or other scripting experience.
