Chief of Staff (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto or Montreal, Canada

Base salary: CA$335,000–CA$410,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own annual and quarterly planning, goal-setting, weekly and monthly business reviews, and the operating rhythm of the AI organization.
• Drive budget and headcount planning while adapting priorities as business needs change.
• Coordinate major programs across research, modelling, product, delivery, and security, resolving ownership questions and trade-offs.
• Connect the Chief AI Officer’s organization with product, engineering, security, finance, and other company functions.
• Lead end-to-end special projects such as reorganizations, partnerships, research events, and company-wide planning initiatives.
• Support executive communication and represent the Chief AI Officer in high-stakes discussions.

Requirements

• 12+ years of operating experience in a Chief of Staff, business operations, or senior program-operations role.
• Experience working inside an AI/ML organization and supporting teams that ship products, pilots, and scaled solutions.
• Strong understanding of how AI models become products, including data requirements, research and engineering workflows, and delivery challenges.
• Ability to work with model performance metrics, data pipeline throughput, budgets, and business impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presence, influencing skills, and the ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Toronto or Montreal, Canada.
