Technical Historical Records Linguist II (Russian, Ukrainian, Old Church Slavonic)

What you will do

• Decipher historical genealogical documents using paleography skills.
• Annotate language data to build natural language processing datasets.
• Model relationships between areas of text to represent how historical documents are read.
• Map document layouts and curate large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Review datasets, correct errors, and deliver accurate work on schedule.
• Support multiple automation and data-modeling projects in a changing, high-volume environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, linguistics, family history, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
• Native-level fluency in Russian or Ukrainian and experience with Old Church Slavonic.
• Business-level English fluency.
• Demonstrated paleography, linguistics, historical-document, data-quality, analytical, and technical skills.
• Ability to manage high volumes of work, support multiple projects, apply technical concepts quickly, and use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
