Senior Principal Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide architectural initiatives and define long-term technology strategy.
• Design and deliver highly scalable, resilient distributed systems.
• Drive strategic engineering decisions across multiple teams, platforms, and business units.
• Lead architecture, reliability engineering, system optimization, and performance tuning efforts.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering culture across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 10 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing high-scale distributed systems in production.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
• Expertise in data modeling, system optimization, performance tuning, reliability engineering, and distributed architectures.
• U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are encouraged to apply. New H-1B petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Public technical contributions, including papers, talks, or open-source leadership.
• Experience driving multi-year transformation programs.
• Familiarity with FinOps and large-scale cost optimization.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
• Advanced degree or equivalent industry recognition.
