SURF Material, Welding & NDT Specialist (Offshore Oil & Gas)

Location: London, United Kingdom (contractor’s premises); residential status with frequent travel to fabrication yards and offshore locations.

What you will do

• Lead material selection, corrosion engineering, welding and NDT activities within the SURF package.
• Review and approve specifications, drawings, procedures, WPS, WPQR, PQT and other engineering deliverables.
• Oversee carbon steel, CRA-lined pipe and duplex stainless steel fabrication, material traceability, welding, heat treatment and special processes.
• Support qualification programmes, laboratory testing, FAT, EFAT, SIT and fabrication surveillance at contractor and supplier facilities.
• Provide technical support during offshore pipeline installation and resolve interfaces across SURF, SPS, FPSO, umbilical and flexible packages.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, HSE compliance, technical risks, deviations and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Materials Science or a related discipline.
• ESSA or International Welding Engineer (IWE) qualification.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in major offshore oil and gas SURF projects, preferably deepwater developments.
• Strong experience in material selection, corrosion, welding engineering, NDT, QA/QC and subsea pipeline fabrication.
• Knowledge of AUT, PAUT, TOFD, IWEX, DNV codes, international standards and offshore pipeline requirements.
• Good command of English, valid BOSIET certification and willingness to undertake frequent travel to fabrication yards and offshore locations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TotalEnergies General Specifications, technical procedures and project policies.
• Experience with major SURF contractors and deepwater project execution.
