Global Category Manager - MRO

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

• Develop and deploy global, regional, and multi-site MRO category strategies.
• Partner with Engineering, Plant Facilities, Manufacturing Operations, Finance, Legal, Quality, and other stakeholders to align priorities and execute initiatives.
• Lead or support supplier selection, bid events, technical and commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Build business cases covering cost analysis, cost projections, savings opportunities, efficiency impacts, supplier risk, and implementation considerations.
• Track multi-year savings plans, value, total cost, service levels, project delivery, quality, and continuity of supply.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, market intelligence, performance metrics, risks, innovation opportunities, and executive-level progress updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in business, procurement, sourcing, engineering, capital projects, or category management; 5–7 years is preferred for a manager-level global role.
• Experience with MRO optimization projects in a multinational organization.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, negotiations, contracting, technical evaluations, supplier selection, and supplier management.
• Experience building cost models, efficiency analyses, project cost projections, business cases, and executive-level recommendations.
• Experience working with Engineering and Plant Maintenance or Production teams in regulated manufacturing, medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similar environments is preferred.
• Experience managing cross-functional work in a matrix environment and collaborating with virtual teams across countries and time zones.
• Strong negotiation, contracting, supplier management, relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Financial understanding of total cost of ownership, cost reduction, cost avoidance, budget impact, and savings tracking; strategic thinking, practical execution, ethical judgment, and knowledge of MRO markets and market intelligence.

Nice to have

• Professional procurement or project management certifications, where applicable.
• Experience working with Engineering and Plant Maintenance or Production teams in regulated manufacturing, medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similar environments.
• Five to seven years of experience for a manager-level global role.
