Photonics Test Engineer (PIC)

Location: Boulder County, Colorado, United States; US-based, onsite opportunities

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 base salary plus equity, depending on experience

What you will do

• Test and characterize photonic integrated circuits.
• Build fiber-to-chip coupling and alignment setups.
• Develop optical and electro-optical test infrastructure.
• Automate measurements using Python.
• Measure insertion loss, bandwidth, coupling efficiency, and polarization.
• Perform reliability and failure analysis and communicate findings to design and fabrication teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience testing photonic integrated circuits, not only free-space optics.
• Experience with optical characterization and electro-optical testing.
• Ability to build test setups from scratch and automate measurements.
• Ability to debug unexpected device behavior and provide feedback to design and fabrication teams.
• Availability for onsite work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Cryogenic test experience.
