Electrical Test Engineer (EV)

Location: Troy, Michigan, USA; onsite role. Applicants must provide immediate, ongoing, and valid eligibility to work full time in the United States. Travel of up to 50% is required.

What you will do

• Define 2D drawings and electrical schematics for base vehicles and accessories, including wiring harnesses, control modules, lighting, and related components.
• Support electrical designs using CAD software and ensure compatibility with vehicle systems.
• Lead the development and integration of electrical components with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
• Diagnose complex electrical issues using 8D, Five Whys, Fishbone, and other structured problem-solving methods.
• Work with manufacturing, purchasing, and other stakeholders to resolve production issues.
• Apply LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout development and production support.

Requirements

• Full-time US work authorization with immediate and ongoing eligibility is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program.
• At least five years of relevant experience in automotive electrical design and release.
• Hands-on experience creating schematics, processing supplier device transmittals, and working with low-voltage and high-voltage vehicle components.
• Experience with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and UDS-based diagnostics, plus automotive standards and regulations such as FMVSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, and NEC.
• Ability to collaborate across functions, communicate effectively, work in fast-paced startup and new-model-launch environments, travel up to 50%, and perform the stated physical duties.

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
