Senior SCADA Commissioning Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid remote/office work with international travel and on-site commissioning activities exceeding 80%

What you will do

• Design, engineer, configure, test, and commission SCADA and substation automation systems for transmission, distribution, renewable, and industrial power projects.
• Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests in line with project specifications and customer requirements.
• Configure and integrate SCADA platforms, protection devices, RTUs, HMIs, gateways, communication equipment, and network infrastructure.
• Perform on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, system integration, post-commissioning support, and after-sales activities.
• Provide technical support across proposal, design, execution, commissioning, and warranty phases, including customer training.
• Prepare technical documentation and commissioning reports while contributing to engineering standards, cybersecurity requirements, and quality processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, automation, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in SCADA engineering, commissioning, or substation automation projects in the energy sector.
• Experience with SCADA architecture, protection and control systems, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, RTUs, gateways, and utility communication networks.
• Hands-on experience with Copa-Data Zenon, Siemens Sicam solutions such as PAS, SCC, and A8000, or comparable automation platforms.
• Knowledge of power-system cybersecurity standards and experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Business-level English and willingness to travel internationally and perform on-site commissioning activities exceeding 80% are required.
