Cloud Expert (Microsoft Azure)

What you will do

• Advise product and engineering teams on cloud cost optimization while maintaining performance, scalability, and service quality.
• Review cloud architectures and infrastructure choices, recommending improvements in resource sizing, capacity, and service selection.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to evaluate technical options and support informed decisions.
• Follow up on the implementation of optimization recommendations with product teams.
• Prepare presentations and communicate technical recommendations, trade-offs, and progress to stakeholders and senior management.
• Participate in governance committees and cross-functional meetings to promote accountability for cloud spending.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8 years of professional experience, including 4 years working with cloud technologies.
• Hands-on experience in cloud development, engineering, or architecture, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
• AWS experience is valued.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, capacity planning, and the relationship between technical decisions, cost, and performance.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage technical teams and senior management.

Nice to have

• FinOps or financial management experience.
• Motivation to transition into a more consultative role while applying technical cloud expertise.
