Director, Product Development- Northfield E&S

Location: Hybrid, CT - Hartford, United States

Salary: $120,400–$198,700 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Lead coverage form development for Northfield Excess and Surplus Lines to support growth, profit, and retention objectives.
• Own proprietary and manuscript coverage forms and endorsements, partnering on drafting, review, and system implementation.
• Use market, competitor, and consumer research to identify new products, markets, services, and product enhancements.
• Design, develop, and implement system and process solutions aligned with product strategy.
• Lead product enhancement, launch, rollout, communication, training, and marketing activities.
• Guide stakeholders and teams, monitor strategic performance, and present recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of relevant experience with insurance products, underwriting, coverage, rules, compliance, regulatory environments, or insurance financials.
• Six years of product development experience preferred, ideally in Excess and Surplus Lines or commercial insurance.
• Expert understanding of non-admitted products, coverage forms, underwriting, and insurance regulation across General Liability, Property, Excess Casualty, Inland Marine, and Auto Liability.
• At least one year of people management experience preferred, with demonstrated leadership and change-management skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, storytelling, innovation, and stakeholder-influence skills.
