Lead Life & Annuity Regulatory Analyst (Insurance)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; hybrid with in-office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Salary: $30–$38 per hour, plus potential annual bonus

What you will do

• Research complex transactions related to daily policyholder processing and monitoring.
• Interpret annuity tax regulations, gather data from multiple administrative systems, troubleshoot issues, and answer business-unit questions.
• Lead resolution of production-system problems and customer escalations.
• Analyze tax law changes and coordinate implementation plans across affected departments.
• Maintain manual tax-law records and processes, including aggregation, cost-basis updates, foreign reporting, and withholding.
• Lead product enhancement initiatives for information reporting and withholding, including planning, coordinating, and validating comprehensive testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in annuities, insurance, or financial services.
• In-depth understanding of fixed and variable annuity concepts.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, communication, customer service, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and provide performance feedback and mentoring to team members.
• Ability to work in the Cedar Rapids office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience leading testing and implementation of information reporting and withholding enhancements.
