Staff Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote from Kazakhstan. Relocation support is available to hubs in Armenia, Georgia, Serbia, Portugal, and Spain.

What you will do

• Shape the technical direction and roadmap for Core Backend, including shared services, libraries, and developer tools.
• Design and evolve shared backend capabilities for event-driven communication, application-level encryption, and sensitive data protection.
• Develop internal tools such as a Service Catalog, API Registry, SLO platform, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Drive complex initiatives from discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, and production validation.
• Support integrations and migrations, gather feedback from engineering teams, and improve platform adoption.
• Stay hands-on with Go while building observability, recovery mechanisms, and reliable systems used by other teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong hands-on Go experience and deep expertise in distributed, high-load systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, GCP, GitLab, and microservices.
• Ownership of complex initiatives from design through production, including architecture and technology decisions.
• Strong understanding of quality, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Strong English, clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, mentoring experience, and an autonomous approach to ambiguous problems.
