Senior VAVE Engineer (Analytical Instruments)

What you will do

• Reduce direct material spend through VAVE and supplier change projects.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving electrical, mechanical, optical, and other engineering resources.
• Create and update test plans to validate production changes before implementation.
• Update designs, drawings, engineering data, CAD, ECAD, firmware, and engineering releases.
• Build cost summaries and recommend future projects that improve instrument cost, performance, and quality.
• Communicate with international suppliers across Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in analytical instrumentation, optical-mechanical engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of R&D, engineering, systems, or VAVE experience with analytical instruments.
• At least 5 years of experience working in a global organization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, ownership, accountability, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Experience applying continuous improvement and lean principles in product development or manufacturing.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or project management.
• Experience with optics, optical-mechanical systems, electrical circuit boards, and mechanical parts.
• Awareness of lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, KANBAN, Policy Deployment, Value Stream Management, and Visual Management.
