Research Analyst, Cybersecurity (Cybersecurity Market Research): Developing strategic market intelligence and actionable recommendations for cybersecurity vendors and enterprise clients across APAC with an accent on industry analysis, consulting research, and business needs assessment. Focus on building cybersecurity market expertise, translating client needs into research solutions, and presenting research conclusions to executive audiences.
Location: Hybrid role based in Selangor or Iskandar, Johor, Malaysia. Candidates must be eligible to work in Malaysia for any employer.

What you will do
- Conduct strategic research and deliver market intelligence on the cybersecurity industry, technologies, and enterprise security services.
- Develop actionable strategic recommendations and thought leadership content.
- Build and maintain relationships with cybersecurity vendors across APAC through proactive outreach and vendor briefings.
- Analyse client business needs and translate them into Frost & Sullivan research solutions.
- Contribute to cybersecurity consulting engagements using market research and analytical methodologies.
- Support business development, social media outreach, client engagement, and collaborative team initiatives.
Requirements
- Analytical thinking with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Business-level fluency in English.
- Understanding of consulting, market research, investigative journalism, business modelling, primary and secondary research, and strategy development.
- Ability to quickly understand the cybersecurity industry, its structure, operational practices, business functions, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to develop market narratives, build vendor relationships, present to executive audiences, and defend research conclusions.
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience in journalism, business administration, sociology, anthropology, psychology, market research, market intelligence, consulting, or a related discipline.
Nice to have
- Postgraduate qualification such as an MA or MBA, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience in market or industry research.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and market landscapes, especially cloud and application security, data security, and cybersecurity services.
