Business Intelligence Architect (Google Cloud)

What you will do

• Lead structured evaluations of enterprise BI platforms such as Looker, Qlik, Power BI, and Tableau using real data and business scenarios.
• Define semantic-layer, reporting, metric, and pack standards on governed cloud data warehouse and lakehouse platforms.
• Build enablement kits with starter models, templates, reusable reports, guidelines, and training for business power users.
• Establish the BI operating model, including responsibilities, change and release processes, and report lifecycle management.
• Ensure governed KPI definitions, data-protection controls, column-level security, and policy tags are applied to reporting.
• Partner with data engineers, product owners, governance stewards, and business stakeholders, including support for legacy BI migrations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics, including senior or lead-level delivery.
• Hands-on expertise with at least one enterprise BI platform, such as Looker/LookML, Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses; BigQuery is preferred, with Snowflake and Redshift also relevant.
• Experience with semantic or metrics modelling and enabling business self-service BI.
• Knowledge of BI governance, KPI definitions, metric ownership, cataloguing, access controls, and PII protection.
• Fluent English and German, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience selecting or migrating BI tooling from legacy platforms such as SAP BusinessObjects, MicroStrategy, or Cognos.
• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Dataplex, Collibra, and other modern data-stack tools.
• Google Cloud or Looker certifications.
• Consulting, client-facing, enterprise, or retail data-estate experience.
• Interest in conversational or AI-assisted analytics on governed data.
