Research Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Singapore; on-site work required. Three anchor office days are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates need to be based in Singapore or be willing to relocate to Singapore.

What you will do

• Conduct applied research combining AI/ML with software engineering to improve code quality, testing, and software maintenance.
• Design and implement experimental prototypes to validate new methodologies.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, software engineers, and product managers to turn research findings into practical applications.
• Track advances in AI/ML and software engineering and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Publish research in academic conferences and journals and present findings to the research community.
• Participate in code reviews and apply DevOps practices to maintain readable, testable, and documented research infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as a Research Engineer, ideally in Software Engineering.
• Strong research background in AI, ML, and software engineering.
• Experience with agentic technologies such as Astra, Opus, or Vertex.
• Experience developing and prototyping AI/ML solutions in Python.
• Understanding of software development processes, AI-assisted code generation, program synthesis, or AI/ML-based software testing.
