TL;DR
Forward Deployed Engineer (AI): Building and deploying production AI agents, applications, and coding-agent workflows inside customer engineering organizations with an accent on end-to-end ownership, system integration, and production reliability. Focus on designing tools, retrieval, MCP servers, CI gates, and evals, debugging real-world failures, and measuring outcomes such as cost, cycle time, and error rate.

What you will do
- Lead customer discovery, analyze codebases and workflows, identify valuable use cases, and define success metrics.
- Design and ship production AI agents, AI applications, and coding-agent workflows using Grok and company models.
- Integrate solutions with customer authentication, data, tools, workflows, and delivery systems.
- Build supporting systems including tools, MCP servers, retrieval, rules, skills, CI gates, and evaluation frameworks.
- Own production quality through monitoring, tracing, evaluations, debugging, safe rollouts, and latency and cost trade-offs.
- Measure business outcomes, enable customer teams to operate deployed systems, and turn field learnings into reusable product patterns.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or data science.
- Production coding and code review experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience owning customer or operator outcomes and turning ambiguous problems into shipped systems.
- Experience building and operating AI-native workflows or agents in production and debugging model, tool, data, pipeline, or delivery failures.
- Experience with production reliability, including metrics, alerts, safe rollouts, and incident response; ability to build across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and prompt iteration.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English is required.
Nice to have
- 2+ years in a customer-facing role with responsibility for external stakeholder outcomes.
- Depth in agents and tool-calling, evaluation harnesses, retrieval and context systems, CI/CD, developer platforms, or AI-native coding workflows.
- Experience as a forward-deployed, solutions, or platform engineer, or as a founding engineer owning an AI product end to end.
