Senior Android Engineer (Pass)

Location: Barcelona or Paris; hybrid work with three core days in the office and work from home for up to 30% of the time

What you will do

• Develop and maintain cross-platform Android applications using Rust alongside native Kotlin technologies.
• Build Proton Pass and SimpleLogin features with Jetpack Compose.
• Own mobile development projects end to end, including scoping, prioritization, and delivery.
• Optimize applications for performance, usability, and responsiveness across devices and screen sizes.
• Apply memory management, multithreading, concurrency, caching, and network scalability practices.
• Use customer feedback to iterate on the mobile user experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience developing Android applications with Kotlin.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose and familiarity with Rust.
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, memory management, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Understanding of scalability considerations for mobile applications.
• Experience working in a fast-paced scale-up environment, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
