US Policy Lead (DeFi)

Location: Remote within the United States; Washington, DC preferred

What you will do

• Own the US policy pipeline covering SEC, CFTC, Treasury and FinCEN rulemakings, guidance, staff statements and enforcement developments.
• Maintain a live calendar of comment deadlines and recommend Morpho's position on each matter.
• Draft comment letters, responses to requests for comment and other regulatory submissions for General Counsel approval.
• Prepare and lead meetings with agency staff, commissioner offices, congressional offices and committee staff.
• Represent Morpho in trade association working groups and industry coalitions, coordinating joint filings and policy positions.
• Manage outside policy counsel and consultants, brief leadership and product teams, and develop the 2027 US policy plan.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience with SEC or CFTC matters in an agency, regulatory law firm, trade association, or in-house regulatory or policy team.
• Strong working knowledge of federal securities and commodities law, notice-and-comment rulemaking, staff guidance, no-action relief and exemptive relief.
• Excellent writing skills with comment letters, regulatory submissions or comparable work product.
• Existing relationships with agency staff, congressional staff or industry coalitions.
• Ability to learn onchain lending and explain Morpho Markets, Morpho Vaults and curator roles accurately to non-technical audiences.
• Clear written English communication across a team based in Paris, New York and Washington, DC.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as SEC or CFTC staff.
• Experience working directly on DeFi lending or related onchain policy issues.
