Software Engineer (Python/AI)

Location: New York City, United States. Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week in the office; candidates must be based in the New York City area or willing to relocate.

Base salary: $140K–$180K per year.

Venture-backed B2B SaaS company building a fully managed data platform for owners of large capital construction projects.

What you will do

• Complete the migration of the core application to its new architecture in collaboration with the CTO.
• Build and maintain integrations that ingest structured and unstructured data from project, financial, and contractor systems.
• Design and operate Python-based orchestration and workflow-automation pipelines.
• Contribute to an agentic automation platform that trains and optimizes agents for construction-specific workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and lightweight system design on a small engineering team.
• Own technical problems end to end while helping establish engineering processes.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with data ingestion at scale.
• Experience building orchestration systems with tools such as Prefect, Dagster, or Step Functions.
• Demonstrated experience integrating disparate software systems and a background in B2B SaaS engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Must be based in the New York City area or willing to relocate and work in the office 2–3 days per week.
