Mgr, Voice Core

Location: AK, United States; remote work eligible with restrictions. The role is based at the Anchorage office and may require occasional travel between offices, worksites, retail locations, and other sites.

What you will do

• Plan, design, and implement wireline Voice Core network elements, including switches, signaling systems, routing, databases, and ancillary applications.
• Lead Voice Core personnel and oversee day-to-day operations, projects, performance, development, and accountability.
• Manage network commissioning, integration, testing, lifecycle activities, software updates, capacity improvements, and customer experience enhancements.
• Administer number databases, call-record billing, 911 PSAP routing, IR-21 processes, FCC submissions, LERG, NRUF/RND, reassigned number databases, CLU codes, and CLONES.
• Establish architecture, security, quality, KPI, documentation, and telecom compliance standards.
• Manage vendors and contractors, evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and coordinate delivery with strategy, product, sales, and customer experience stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or a related field.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible telecommunications engineering experience focused on VoIP implementations and project management.
• At least two years in a supervisory or management position, or equivalent demonstrated functional leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering concepts, including high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, standards, and QoS.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, priorities, regulatory requirements, technical documentation, and vendor relationships.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Telecommunications experience and relevant industry or role-specific certifications.
