Manager II - Cyber Physical Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in Santa Barbara, California, United States. Flexible work schedules may include 5/8s, 9/80, or 4/10s work-weeks.

Annual salary: $155,209.60–$248,331.20.

Mission Support and Test Services manages and operates the hirify.global for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration and supports national security missions through high-hazard experimentation and technical services.

What you will do

• Oversee the cyber-physical defense portfolio and direct all programmatic phases of related R&D projects.
• Manage staff, facilities, advanced measurement techniques, and specialized instrumentation supporting national security programs.
• Plan and coordinate budgets, resources, milestones, schedules, and technical performance with project managers and partner organizations.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams working on cyber-physical defense projects.
• Serve as the supervisory contact for sponsor organizations and lead customer program reviews.
• Coordinate proposals, execution plans, work statements, reporting, specifications, and mitigation of project risks across NNSA sites and national laboratories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience, plus at least 14 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
• Technical experience in cyber-physical systems, C2 software integration, field deployments, RF communications, hardware/software testing and validation, AWS GovCloud architecture and maintenance, and NIST 800-53 compliance.
• Experience managing diverse engineering and support teams in R&D environments.
• Active Q/SCI-level clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance are required; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
• On-site work at the Special Technologies Laboratory in Santa Barbara, California.
• A valid driver’s license, pre-placement physical examination, drug screening, and federal background investigation are required.

Nice to have

• Experience as a technical project lead on hirify.global projects.
• Knowledge of NNSS processes including REOPs, work packages, authorization basis, overflight permissions, estimating procedures, and construction activities.
• Experience delivering objectives with limited predefined guidance.
