Technical Writer

Location: Hybrid work from the Arlington, Virginia office, United States

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Write and edit cybersecurity documentation, including System Security Plans, ATO artifacts, System Design Documents, architectural documentation, CONOPs, SOPs, and customer deliverables.
• Support documentation for cloud infrastructure, data platforms, analytics infrastructure, AI/ML services, and data visualization tools.
• Interview subject matter experts to gather technical information across cloud, data, and AI workstreams.
• Coordinate graphics, formatting, and document production while maintaining content quality and standards compliance.
• Collaborate on standardized documentation processes and deliverables across technical teams.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)/Public Trust
• Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience as a technical writer or editor.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience coordinating with technical teams to gather information and produce documentation.
• Ability to learn cloud computing, data platforms, and AI technologies, with basic knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Federal government or federal program experience.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, cloud administration, data lakes, big data, or analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with AI/ML, business intelligence, data visualization, SDLC, Agile frameworks, and information security compliance documentation.
