Senior Software Engineer (Pose Estimation)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base salary: $193,930–$291,150 per year, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

Physical AI company developing Level 4 autonomous driving technology and a universal autonomy platform for robotaxis, logistics fleets, personal vehicles, and other mobility applications.

What you will do

• Develop high-quality, real-time vehicle pose estimation software for mobile robots.
• Research, implement, and deploy safe, reliable, fail-operational pose estimation algorithms.
• Analyze the accuracy and performance of pose estimation algorithms across different platforms.
• Build well-tested C/C++ software and deploy it on robotic platforms and in simulation.
• Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, and systems teams on sensor selection and architectures for future vehicles.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of state estimation, probabilistic filtering, and 3D geometry.
• Experience developing pose estimation algorithms using IMUs, motor resolvers or encoders, GPS, and sensor fusion.
• 3+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience developing well-tested, safety-critical software.
• Hands-on experience with sensor fusion or filtering algorithms for autonomous vehicles, drones, or similar systems.

Nice to have

• Experience developing embedded systems software in C.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle safety standards and redundant, fault-tolerant systems.
• Proficiency with Python.
