Software Engineer, Core Systems (AI/Robotics)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States. Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities. May be expected to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. Relocation assistance may be available depending on role eligibility.

Base salary: $170,000–$380,000 USD annually, plus bonus and equity.

hirify.global is a startup developing Fury, a robotic foundation model for defense that enables human operators to command autonomous robot fleets through natural language.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain onboard C++ software and core system libraries.
• Build scalable, low-latency C++ and Python infrastructure for ML workloads, including cloud storage and GPU job scheduling.
• Design simulation and evaluation pipelines with synthetic agents, rendering tools, and scenario suites.
• Create evaluation criteria and internal tooling to analyze and compare software release builds.
• Refactor large codebases, eliminate anti-patterns, and improve system architecture.
• Build sensor-calibration and 3D-reconstruction data pipelines and automated validation frameworks.

Requirements

• Proficiency in C++ or Python for core systems, simulation, evaluation, and tooling.
• Experience navigating, auditing, and refactoring large codebases.
• Experience building shared software frameworks or underlying libraries.
• Ability to write, debug, and explain complex code independently without relying on AI tools.
• Must be a U.S. Person; access to export-controlled information or facilities is required.
• Passion for defending the United States and its allies.

Nice to have

• Cloud and infrastructure experience, including GPU job scheduling and service deployment.
• Simulation or evaluation experience.
• Calibration or 3D-reconstruction experience.
• Edge or embedded hardware familiarity.
