2027 Summer Intern, Corporate Development (AI)

Location: Hybrid from Reston, Virginia, United States, two days per week. This is a 10-week, full-time summer internship expected to run from June through August. Housing and relocation assistance are not provided.

Salary: $0.00–$77,869.00 annual pay range based on full-time employment.

What you will do

• Research target companies, competitors, market segments, and industry trends.
• Prepare company profiles, screening summaries, market maps, market overviews, and comparable company analyses.
• Support due diligence by tracking requests, organizing materials, summarizing findings, and identifying follow-up items.
• Prepare presentation materials for deal reviews, leadership updates, and strategic discussions.
• Maintain pipeline tracking and support data organization, process improvement, and other strategic projects.
• Use approved AI tools responsibly and identify practical applications for research, summarization, workflow improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• At least 30 completed college-level credit hours by the start date in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with familiarity with financial statements, basic corporate finance, structured research, and data organization.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle confidential information in a fast-moving environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information into concise, decision-ready outputs.
• Ability to validate AI outputs, protect confidential information, and apply sound judgment when using AI-generated work.

Nice to have

• Completed bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a master’s degree program with at least 9 completed credits in a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in corporate development, M&A, strategy, finance, consulting, technology, or business transformation.
• Experience using AI tools for research, summarization, analysis, productivity, or workflow improvement.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and apply them to practical business problems.
