Engineering Manager – Low Voltage

Location: Humble, Texas, US; on-site work includes regular time on the production floor.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and support engineers and designers working on low-voltage products and projects.
• Provide engineering leadership for switchgear, switchboards, power distribution equipment, controls, and related electrical systems.
• Manage projects from requirements and design through drawing release, manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
• Set project priorities, schedules, workloads, and deliverables while managing engineering resources and commitments.
• Work with manufacturing on the production floor to resolve engineering issues and improve manufacturability, quality, and efficiency.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, project management, sales, estimating, customers, and engineering teams in Chicago.

Requirements

• Strong experience with low-voltage electrical power distribution equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, controls, panelboards, or related engineered products.
• Experience in electrical equipment manufacturing, switchgear, controls, power distribution, or a similar engineered-product environment.
• Understanding of the complete project lifecycle from engineering and design through manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
• Approximately 3–5+ years of engineering leadership, project leadership, or people-management experience.
• Experience managing engineering schedules, priorities, components, bills of material, standard packages, and project deliverables.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to balance technical engineering responsibilities with leadership and project execution.

Nice to have

• Experience with UL 891 switchboards, UL 1558 low-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, bus systems, metering, protection, relays, CTs/PTs, or transfer controls.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and SAP.
• Knowledge of engineered-to-order or configure-to-order equipment, manufacturing engineering, design-for-manufacturability, factory testing, and project release processes.
