Risk & Sustainability Co-op Student

Location: Hybrid work with at least three days per week in the Ottawa or Toronto office, Canada.

Compensation: CAD 19.46–28.55 per hour.

What you will do

• Support the Enterprise Risk Management program by maintaining the enterprise risk register, monitoring mitigation activities, and preparing quarterly risk reporting.
• Research emerging business, technology, regulatory, and geopolitical risks, including developments in artificial intelligence.
• Support enterprise risk assessments, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and risk discussions.
• Help develop and operate the Third-Party Risk Management program, including inventory management, risk segmentation, assessment workflows, documentation, and reporting.
• Coordinate third-party risk assessment documentation and track follow-up actions with internal stakeholders.
• Prepare clear presentations, summaries, benchmarking materials, and process improvement analyses for business and leadership audiences.

Requirements

• Be in the final years of a program in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally and work comfortably with multiple stakeholders.
• Show interest in risk management, governance, technology, and analytics.
• Be comfortable with ambiguity, asking questions, and learning unfamiliar topics.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Coursework or exposure to business, risk, or data analysis.
• Experience conducting research or compiling reports.
• Familiarity with vendor management, privacy, ESG, or cybersecurity topics.
• A proactive mindset and interest in connecting information and improving processes.
