Senior Cost Specialist (Project Cost Controls)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Candidates must already be based in the Pittsburgh area. The position is remote initially while the new office is completed, then transitions to an in-office role. Domestic travel up to 15% may be required.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and control project budgets, cost baselines, and forecasts.
• Track actual costs, commitments, cost trends, and estimates at completion.
• Perform EAC/ETC, variance, cost-to-complete, and earned value analysis.
• Identify cost risks and recommend corrective actions, recovery plans, budget transfers, and change-order impacts.
• Prepare cost reports, dashboards, forecasts, and project performance updates.
• Partner with Project Managers, Operations leaders, and project teams to align financial performance with execution plans.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in project cost controls, cost management, project controls, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, controlling, planning, and forecasting project budgets.
• Strong knowledge of actuals versus budget, forecasting, variance analysis, cost-to-complete analysis, EAC/ETC, and change management.
• Experience communicating project cost performance and risks to Project Managers and leadership.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with JDE, EcoSys, Procore, or similar project cost and financial systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
