Senior Backend Engineer

Location: Remote; open to applicants in the US and Canada

Salary: $180,000–$210,000 annually, plus equity. Compensation reflects candidates based in California and New York.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the integrity of a data processing pipeline handling approximately 5 TB per day.
• Develop tools that guarantee service availability across approximately 30 microservices.
• Automate the operation of backend services and contribute to reliable production systems.
• Build backend services and product features supporting embedded, machine learning, mobile, and business intelligence data flows.
• Design, implement, and support distributed systems that affect the member experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer or site reliability engineer.
• Advanced experience with at least two of Java, Scala, Kotlin, C#, F#, .NET Core, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed systems and a deep understanding of cloud services.
• Applicants must be located in the US or Canada.
