Senior Software Engineer, Fulfillment (Healthcare Integrations)

Location: New York City; hybrid

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 plus equity

hirify.global is building a national medical imaging network that connects patients, providers, and payers to faster diagnostic imaging.

What you will do

• Build and maintain REST API integrations with referral sources, attorney platforms, demand aggregators, EHRs, and other partners.
• Design HL7 v2 transformation pipelines for ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, and MDM messages across heterogeneous RIS and EHR systems.
• Develop integration connectors for modern and legacy imaging center RIS platforms.
• Architect fault-tolerant message queuing and delivery infrastructure for HL7 and API traffic.
• Own observability through structured logging, alerting, and dashboards for integration latency and failures.
• Mentor mid-level engineers, contribute to onboarding tooling, and participate in architecture reviews.

Requirements

• Strong command of observable, replayable, and extensible message transformation architectures.
• Backend development experience in at least one relevant language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or C#.
• Experience with RESTful API integration, schema versioning, backward compatibility, and API contract management.
• Strong operational instincts, including instrumentation, failure-mode analysis, and reliable on-call practices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in New York City.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or medical imaging experience.
• Experience with HL7, FHIR, RIS, EHR, or other legacy healthcare integration systems.

Hiring process

• Approximately 30-minute introductory video call with a Senior Talent Partner.
• Approximately 60-minute engineering video call with a live coding exercise.
• Cross-functional assessment covering systems design and feature evolution, followed by a final round with the CTO and CPO.
