Senior Software Engineer (Identity)

Location: US-Remote; occasional travel to Draper, Utah. Remote work includes a mandatory onsite Trailhead onboarding session at headquarters once per quarter.

Salary: $144,000–$237,500 per year, plus performance-based incentives and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead technical decisions and design across authentication, authorization, session management, and customer identity services.
• Build passwordless sign-in with FIDO2 and WebAuthn, identity verification, step-up verification, and risk-based authentication.
• Develop authentication services and GraphQL and REST APIs for member, employer, broker, partner, and mobile applications.
• Set standards for credential, token, and session security while partnering with Information Security and Compliance.
• Lead CIAM platform consolidation, legacy federation retirement, and credential migration without downtime.
• Instrument production systems with dashboards, alerts, telemetry, runbooks, and security remediation workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years working with authentication, identity, or security-sensitive production systems.
• Deep knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, FIDO2, and WebAuthn, including attacks and failure modes.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js experience, including NestJS, plus working knowledge of C# and .NET.
• Experience with a customer identity platform at scale and the ability to assess build-versus-buy decisions.
• Experience with Azure or equivalent cloud-native delivery, Kubernetes, Helm, API gateways, key vaults, managed identities, and CI/CD.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, SQL, PostgreSQL, event-driven integration, threat modeling, and AI-assisted development.

Nice to have

• Identity verification, fraud, phone-risk, document and selfie verification, or bank-account verification experience.
• Mobile authentication experience, including device binding, app attestation, biometrics, and deep links.
• Healthcare, benefits, banking, fintech, HIPAA, or PCI experience.
• Dynatrace, Databricks, or identity-credential migration experience.
