Lead AI Engineer

Location: Quincy, Massachusetts, United States

Compensation: $180,000–$280,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade AI/ML systems for operational automation.
• Develop agentic AI solutions for interpreting trouble tickets, troubleshooting, portal interactions, and data entry.
• Build RAG and ColBERTv2 pipelines for enterprise document parsing, indexing, semantic retrieval, and classification.
• Implement LLM function-calling and reinforcement learning solutions for enterprise decision-making and workflows.
• Optimize models through fine-tuning, distillation, quantization, preprocessing, and post-processing.
• Lead project delivery, collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, machine learning, AI, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and deploying production-grade AI/ML systems.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, and LangChain.
• Hands-on expertise in LLM fine-tuning, LoRA, PEFT, distillation, model optimization, RAG, embeddings, and vector stores.
• Experience building agentic AI systems, NLP and Transformer solutions, semantic search, document retrieval, and reinforcement learning models.
• Ability to meet the role’s onsite requirement in Quincy, Massachusetts, United States.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience with AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of Triton Inference Server, TensorRT, ONNX, model monitoring, and observability.
• Experience in regulated environments with strict compliance and data governance requirements.
