Medical Assistant

Location: On-site in Northbrook, Illinois, United States. Scheduled hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with lunch from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Salary: $20.45–$25.56 per hour

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, operate EKGs, and use other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Provide front-desk coverage, schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, and order medical supplies.

Requirements

• National Medical Assistant certification from an approved organization, or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a hands-on externship.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider.
• At least one year of experience, strong phlebotomy skills, and previous reception and scheduling experience.
• State Lab Certificate for Nevada positions, where applicable.
• CMA certification from an approved recognized certifying body for South Carolina positions, where applicable.

• Previous Medical Assistant experience.
