QA Lead Engineer (Test Automation)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $88,000–$126,000 per year, plus eligibility for an incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks and test suites for web applications.
• Create automated UI tests using Java, Selenium, Playwright, and TestNG, and develop API automation tests with Rest Assured.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar orchestration tools.
• Analyze requirements, create test scenarios, investigate failures, and perform root cause analysis with development teams.
• Use AI-assisted IDE tools to improve test development efficiency, code quality, and test coverage.
• Mentor junior automation engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in software quality assurance test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and UI automation test suites.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins or similar tools, Agile/Scrum, and Jira.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, quality engineering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• API automation with Rest Assured and Python for test automation, utilities, or data validation.
• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Git, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, database validation, and SQL.
• Exposure to performance, security, or accessibility testing.
