Senior Home Energy Auditor (Field-Based)

Location: Southern Maryland, including White Plains, Hughesville, Prince Frederick, Leonardtown, and Waldorf; field-based with remote work options

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 base salary anticipated; posted full-time pay range of $50,605–$86,028

What you will do

• Lead field auditing staff, manage schedules and workloads, and monitor operational performance.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development for Energy Advisors and field staff.
• Conduct residential energy assessments, including attic, basement, and crawl-space inspections, visual equipment reviews, and blower door testing.
• Identify energy consumption drivers and install approved direct-install measures such as LED bulbs, showerheads, and thermostats.
• Prepare customer reports, collect measurements, complete energy modeling documentation, and maintain field data tools.
• Coordinate with homeowners, contractors, subcontractors, utility clients, and internal teams while supporting quality assurance and program growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to install energy-saving devices after training.
• Strong organization, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform field work involving walking, standing, stairs, ladders, and overhead reaching.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; successful background screening and motor vehicle record review required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data management tools, plus the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with energy efficiency programs, field operations, service delivery supervision, or utility-sponsored programs.
• BPI Building Analyst, Energy Auditor, MHIC, HVAC, or similar trade certification.
• Experience with residential energy modeling software and audit platforms.
• Knowledge of building science, residential construction, energy efficiency technologies, and electrification solutions.
• Customer service, sales conversion, or consultative selling experience.
