Sr Software Development Engineer, CloudWatch Collectors

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and design of highly available, massively scaled systems used by millions of users.
• Build telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go for CloudWatch.
• Engage with upstream open-source communities, including OpenTelemetry.
• Define technical strategy, service roadmaps, architectural decisions, and design tradeoffs.
• Improve engineering standards through code reviews, coding practices, operational excellence, and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver complex workstreams.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience, including development within the last three years.
• Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience leading architecture and design for reliable, scalable systems.
• Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
