Senior AI Engineer (Applied AI & Data Science)

Location: New York, NY; remote or hybrid depending on business needs, team alignment, and applicable location requirements.

Annual base salary: $160,000–$174,000.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI applications using Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, Snowpark Python, and Snowflake ML.
• Build enterprise copilots, conversational assistants, intelligent search applications, recommendation systems, and AI-powered business workflows.
• Explore structured and unstructured enterprise data, assess data readiness, and design metadata, embeddings, and knowledge structures for AI systems.
• Design RAG architectures, semantic search and vector retrieval pipelines, enterprise knowledge systems, and agent orchestration workflows.
• Integrate LLMs with enterprise APIs, databases, and business applications while implementing human-in-the-loop approvals, governance, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, translate ambiguous problems into scalable solutions, and establish AI architecture and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience building and deploying production AI or GenAI solutions, with a strong understanding of LLMs and modern AI architectures.
• Hands-on experience with RAG, semantic search, vector embeddings, AI agents, prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, AI observability and monitoring, and AI guardrails.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, Snowpark Python, Snowflake ML, SQL optimization and performance tuning, and enterprise-scale Snowflake development.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, cloud-native development, and enterprise software engineering best practices.
• Experience exploring large enterprise datasets, working with structured and unstructured data, building AI-ready data models and pipelines, and assessing data quality and AI suitability.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and evaluation methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into scalable AI solutions and independently drive initiatives from ideation through production deployment.
