Software Test Engineer II (Medical Devices)

Location: Onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota, or Newton, Massachusetts, United States.

Salary: $82,400.00–$123,600.00 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

hirify.global develops healthcare technologies, including the Affera Mapping and Ablation System for treating cardiac arrhythmias.

What you will do

• Test the functionality and performance of systems software for the Affera Mapping and Ablation System.
• Develop and execute manual test plans and scripts to identify software problems.
• Verify that systems software meets technical and functional requirements.
• Perform workflow analysis, document test results, and recommend quality improvements.
• Work with engineers to resolve software defects and diagnose or improve product configurations for current and future models.
• Review test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 0 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
• Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets quality and regulatory needs.
• Good documentation practices.
• Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases, such as Polarion, TFS, TestRail, JAMA, or Matrix.
• Ability to manage, track, and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.
• For a baccalaureate degree earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
• Roles below the Principal level require unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical product verification, IEC-62304, and FDA guidance in a technical discipline, preferably software-related.
• At least 2 years of software verification experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, or similar programming languages.
• Experience debugging hardware with tools such as oscilloscopes and function generators.
• Experience writing, executing, and maintaining Python or comparable test automation scripts, including functional, regression, and system-level testing.
• Experience with test frameworks, reusable test libraries, log and test-result analysis, failure debugging, and integrating automated tests into verification workflows.
• Experience writing technical reports.
• Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive.
• Experience with software version-control systems such as BitBucket or Git.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
