Technical Lead (Rust/TypeScript)

Salary: £120,000–£175,000 base plus meaningful equity

hirify.global is building an open-source platform that turns fragmented information into typed, temporal knowledge and process graphs for analysis, simulation, optimization, and automation.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the architecture of the frontend, application services, integrations infrastructure, and Flows outside the hGraph core.
• Define interfaces between these systems and hGraph and make cross-cutting architectural decisions with its technical owners.
• Design reliable distributed workflows, connector execution, long-running operations, retries, failure handling, and partial-state recovery.
• Write technical specifications, RFCs, architectural decisions, and implementation plans, while reviewing TypeScript, Rust, and frontend designs and pull requests.
• Establish standards for testing, reliability, security, observability, operability, and maintainability, and improve incident response.
• Coach engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, career development, milestone planning, hiring, and hands-on technical work.

Requirements

• Advanced or expert proficiency in TypeScript and Rust, with experience shipping and operating substantial production systems in both.
• Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, including consistency, concurrency, messaging, retries, idempotency, fault tolerance, and observability.
• Experience owning architecture across a complex product or platform and working with event-driven or workflow systems, asynchronous execution, queues, and distributed coordination.
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture and the operational systems supporting sophisticated web applications.
• Experience leading engineers through coaching, feedback, career development, and performance support, with excellent written technical communication.
• Willingness to work in person from the London office.

Nice to have

• Experience with knowledge graphs, graph databases, connector or synchronization platforms, WebAssembly, or AI-assisted development.
