Data Engineer (BigQuery)

Location: Hybrid in Warsaw, Poland — 2 days in the office and 3 days remote

What you will do

• Build and evolve the analytics warehouse on BigQuery.
• Set up data pipelines from product and marketing sources such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, RevenueCat, Amplitude, Mixpanel, and Facebook Ads.
• Shape data for analysts and product managers and document the data model.
• Establish warehouse practices including raw, staging, and marts layers, naming conventions, versioning, and data quality tests.
• Work with product, marketing, and analytics stakeholders to translate business questions into data structures.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, or a strong analytics background with a real engineering component.
• Production experience with Python for ETL/ELT scripts, APIs, and pipeline automation.
• Experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
• Confident SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and query optimization.
• Understanding of analytics warehouse principles, idempotency, incremental loads, and normalization versus denormalization.
• Experience with external API integrations, Git branching, code review, and communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AppsFlyer, Adjust, Adapty, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.
• Knowledge of mobile attribution, including SKAdNetwork, postbacks, and deterministic versus probabilistic attribution.
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker Studio, Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Terraform or IaC experience for GCP resources.
• Experience with CDC or streaming technologies such as Pub/Sub and Dataflow.
