Asset Manager - Battery Storage

Location: Remote-first in the United States, with work-from-home or hybrid options from offices in The Woodlands, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Brooklyn, Denver, Palm Beach Gardens, and Birmingham; approximately 20% travel to locations within the United States.

Salary: Expected range begins at $150,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Oversee daily operations of a portfolio of utility-scale standalone battery energy storage systems.
• Monitor asset performance, analyze plant metrics and KPIs, identify anomalies, and recommend improvements.
• Manage O&M agreements, third-party contractors, planned maintenance, outages, and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Prepare operational budgets and executive-level reporting with Accounting and Analytics Services.
• Conduct risk assessments, coordinate preventive and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with operating agreements and NERC/ISO requirements.
• Support plant design reviews, EPC and development activities, and the handover of BESS projects from construction to operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of asset management experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business, or a related field.
• Experience with power, energy, renewables, or BESS, including industry terminology and merchant energy assets.
• Working knowledge of ERCOT and other ISO/RTO market structures, regulatory requirements, compliance, and market participation.
• Ability to interpret PPAs, LGIAs, financing agreements, and other project contracts.
• Strong communication, project management, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
