Senior Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise security controls including EDR, SIEM, SOAR, PAM, and WAFs with an accent on threat protection, incident response, and security operations automation. Focus on leading security delivery projects, enriching alert data through automated workflows, performing root-cause analysis during major incidents, and mentoring junior engineers.
Location: Leicester, Leicestershire, United Kingdom; office-based hybrid contract with a 24x7 shift and call-out rota.

What you will do
- Design, deploy, maintain, and fine-tune technical security controls including EDR, SIEM, SOAR, PAM, and WAFs.
- Lead security delivery projects from scoping through completion and communicate progress with IT stakeholders.
- Build automated workflows to enrich alert data, streamline incident management, and improve operational efficiency.
- Support major security incidents with technical direction and rapid root-cause analysis.
- Maintain control baselines, performance metrics, operational documentation, and licensing information.
- Mentor junior security engineers and support their technical development.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience configuring and administering enterprise security tools in complex IT environments.
- In-depth knowledge of information security domains, attack techniques, and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Proficiency with PowerShell or Python for automation.
- Strong familiarity with Windows Server or Linux, networking principles, or application security.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts through concise advice and business cases for senior stakeholders.
- Calm, structured decision-making under pressure, attention to detail, strong change-management standards, and a collaborative approach.

- Experience in retail or eCommerce.
- Relevant industry certifications or active progress toward certification.
