Test Technician (Optoelectronics)

What you will do

• Operate test fixtures and equipment, including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters, for final testing and production fulfillment.
• Inspect products, identify non-conformances, and interpret test results, plots, and basic failure modes.
• Tune and calibrate systems to customer specifications and diagnose basic galvo and servo malfunctions.
• Escalate assembly issues to the Principal Technician or Manufacturing Engineer.
• Package tested systems, print labels, and follow recyclable-material and hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
• Support 5S initiatives and collaborate on process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree in electrical engineering or technology, and/or 0–2 years of manufacturing or electronics technician experience.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, bills of materials, and assembly drawings.
• Experience with ESD and 5S principles, safety and chemical awareness, and proper use of hand tools.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Oracle, with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, learn different testing requirements, and work collaboratively.
• Ability to work onsite in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Electronic apprenticeship or electronics degree from a technical college.
• Experience with optoelectronics and PCB commodities.
• Knowledge of coated mirrors and lenses.
