Solution Architect (Payments)

What you will do

• Define and evolve architecture for card acquiring, authorization, switching, routing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Design end-to-end card-present and card-not-present transaction flows, including captures, reversals, refunds, and exception handling.
• Design integrations with card schemes, processors, banks, payment gateways, and merchant-facing systems using ISO 8583 and scheme-specific patterns.
• Define resilience patterns for high-throughput, low-latency processing, including idempotency, retries, timeouts, duplicate detection, and recovery.
• Translate product and business requirements into technical solutions and guide engineering teams through implementation.
• Set technical standards, review designs and implementations, and contribute hands-on to complex integrations and core platform components.

Requirements

• Strong experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Lead Architect in card acquiring or payment processing.
• Experience designing or significantly evolving acquiring platforms, payment switches, or real-time card transaction processing systems.
• Deep knowledge of the acquiring lifecycle, ISO 8583, card-present and card-not-present processing, EMV, and 3-D Secure.
• Experience integrating with card schemes, processors, banks, payment gateways, or merchant-facing systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, high availability, high throughput, low latency, PCI DSS, cardholder data security, and tokenization.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher required.

Nice to have

• Experience with direct acquiring integrations and certification for Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, JCB, American Express, or Discover.
• Experience with POS and e-commerce acquiring, HSMs, PIN processing, payment cryptography, and key management.
• Experience with scheme clearing files, settlement processes, Way4, BASE24, SmartVista, TranzAxis, or similar platforms.
• Experience modernizing or migrating acquiring platforms and designing event-driven or microservices-based transaction processing architectures.
