REL Instructional Designer

Location: Hybrid work in Merrifield/Vienna, Virginia, United States, combining onsite and remote work

What you will do

• Plan, design, develop, and evaluate classroom, online, and self-directed courses and curricula.
• Create and edit LMS learning activities, training assignments, and custom LMS reports.
• Develop and test course content, training games, graphic designs, multimedia materials, and other technology-driven learning products.
• Assess learning needs, define objectives, select instructional approaches, and establish suitable design and development models.
• Integrate feedback, assessments, and course evaluations into training content and delivery methods.
• Advise trainers, train internal team members, and present instructional strategies and results to groups including executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience evaluating courses, learning products, and delivery methods.
• Experience researching and writing course content or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs, and technology-driven products.
• Advanced knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools, and resources.
• Working knowledge of instructional design, training needs assessment, research, analytical problem-solving, and requirements translation.
• Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, organization, planning, time management, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in multimedia training.
• Working knowledge of company products, services, programs, policies, and procedures.
